Who is CCRERT

The Chester County Regional Emergency Response Team (CCRERT) would first like to thank you for visiting our website and taking the time to learn about a small group of law enforcement officers who represent this team and what this team represents to the residents we serve. The CCRERT currently has over 30 Sworn officers who all work for various Police Departments throughout the county as their primary full-time position. Being on the SWAT team, as most understand it, in Chester County is a part time position and when a crisis arises that is beyond the scope of the average officer, we are requested.

At the present time we serve the Townships in Chester County; however, our services have been requested beyond those townships and beyond just our county.

To be selected as a CCRERT member and given the title of a swat operator all candidates are put through a vigorous selection process that consists of evaluating an individual’s mental toughness, physical capabilities, and the ability to work as a team to accomplish the various mission types we encounter on an everyday basis. Once selected as an operator the individual vows to make a commitment to not just himself but the entire team to serve as a fellow teammate with the utmost integrity and the understanding of excellence that is required to maintain your status as highly capable law enforcement officer.  The training is calculated and demanding as the individual is expected to handle crisis situations with little stress to himself or others. Each high-risk incident we respond to there is a mission specific goal to accomplish and those incidents could range from barricades, hostage rescue, warrant services, and other high risk crisis situations.

The CCRERT consistently trains throughout the year to become more vigilant and further enhance our capabilities as a unit to better serve our community. Our mission goal is to protect all people who wish to do anyone harm and that statement will stand true as we all swore to protect it. The sacrifice to provide sanctity for human life can extend beyond oneself but that sacrifice is part of who we are. We are the Chester County Regional Emergency Response Team, and we thank you for any and all support.
